Different design
The FiiO M15 loseless audio player comes with the bigger size, it measures 134mm x 75mm x 18mm and weighs about 310g, while FiiO M11 Pro measures 130mm x 70.5mm x 16.5mm and weighs about 232g. And the design of their control buttons is also different.
In terms of outside look, the FiiO M15 adopts round edge design, while it’s clean-cut on the FiiO M11 Pro. So the FiiO M15 offers better hand feeling.
Different battery life
The FiiO M15 is equipped with a 7490mAh battery, which can offer up to 15 hours music playback time, while the FiiO M11 Pro is powered by a 4370mAh battery and offers up to 9.5 hours of music playback time.
Different sound quality
The main course remains clearly its technical part, and on this side the mark sends heavy. The Fiio M15 adopts the same Exynos 7872 SoC as the FiiO M11 Pro, which is a chip already powerful enough for this use.
But most of all, the great strong point comes from its digital-to-analog converters, with the presence of a Dual Dac AKM4499EQ, which is the most high-end chip from the manufacturer Asahi Kasei and perhaps the most modern on the market. It’s simple, at the moment only the very high-end Astell & Kern SP2000 (nearly 4000 Euros) has such chips in the top end.
Therefore, in sound quality, the FiiO M15 can actually shake off the M11 PRO in terms of sound, this gap is not a problem of tuning, but a gap in overall quality.
The FiiO M15 is almost as balanced as M11 PRO in three-frequency distribution, but M15 has a slight increase in high-frequency energy sense, M15 high-frequency extension is very good and has a high sense of air.
In low frequency, when the sense of quantity is the same as that of diving, the elasticity and hierarchy are improved compared with M11 PRO, and the position of mid-frequency voice is almost the same as that of M11 PRO, but the definition of M15 voice is much higher, and the female voice tends to be a little younger, at the same time, the distribution of voice and musical instruments is clearer.
Generally speaking, the FiiO M15 has great advantages over M11 Pro in terms of resolution, information, image definition, sound field range, separation and dynamics.
Is the FiiO M15 worth buying?
The FiiO M15 is priced at 8998 yuan (about $1292), which is almost twice as high as the FiiO M11 Pro. But it really offers the best value for the price.
Therefore, if your budget is adequate and you are an audio enthusiast, we recommend you to buy the latest FiiO M15, as it really offers much better sound quality than FiiO M11 Pro. However, if you like listening the high quality Hi-Fi music and don’t want to spend much money, the FiiO M11 Pro is also a good choice.
